North & South was a monthly magazine published in New Zealand, and focused on New Zealand culture, history, and current affairs with a particular emphasis on the country's North-South divide.

First published in 1986 by journalist Robyn Langwell and photographer Chris Bourke, North & South appealed to a wide audience, including readers interested in politics, social issues, and lifestyle trends.

In addition to its feature articles, North & South published regular columns on topics such as health, travel, and food, as well as reviews of books, films, and television programs. The magazine was known for its high-quality journalism and award-winning writing.

North & South went through several ownership changes during its 30-year run, and was ultimately acquired by Bauer Media Group in 2019. However, in December 2020, Bauer Media announced that it would be closing North & South due to declining advertising revenue and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The magazine's final issue was published in January 2021.

Despite its closure, North & South remains a significant part of New Zealand publishing history and continues to be remembered for its contributions to journalism and the arts.

North & South received numerous awards over the course of its run, including several Qantas Media Awards, New Zealand's premier journalism awards.
