Sneaker Freaker
Sneaker Freaker is an independent magazine and website that meticulously covers sneakers, streetwear, and sneaker culture on a global scale. Established in Melbourne, the magazine has grown to have a truly international reach, with its content available both in print and online. The magazine was launched in October 2002, originally conceived as a means for its founder and editor, Simon ‘Woody’ Wood, to acquire free shoes. It is sold in over 40 countries and maintains offices in Melbourne, London, and Berlin. It has grown from its humble roots as a DIY-style fanzine to a renowned international footwear magazine, documenting every collaboration, custom, limited edition, retro reissue, Quickstrike, Hyperstrike, and Tier Zero sneaker released over the past decade and a half.
Sneaker Freaker has been successful in publishing its 40th issue in 2018. The same year, it produced The Ultimate Sneaker Book in collaboration with Taschen. This comprehensive 700-page anthology serves as a collection of Sneaker Freaker magazine’s content, detailing the last 100 years of collaborations, key releases, and significant events that have influenced the industry.
In addition to its regular publishing, Sneaker Freaker has worked in collaboration with a number of popular brands. These collaborative endeavors have resulted in the creation of books with renowned names such as Nike, Globe, Adidas, New Balance, Reebok, G-SHOCK, PONY, and Puma.
